Schoodic Peninsula residents - have you ever seen the seals at Egg Rock Lighthouse? As part of the Winter Harbor Lobster Festival, we are celebrating Schoodic Peninsula residents by offering two admission by donation only scenic cruises around Frenchman Bay.

Our cruise will depart from the Schoodic Marine Center in Winter Harbor, and pass slowly by Mark Island lighthouse, pausing for photos. Weather allowing, we will cut across Frenchman Bay, sailing slowly past Egg Rock Island and Egg Rock lighthouse. Keep your eyes open for harbor seals and grey seals, as well as multiple species of nesting birds on this protected island. Proceed further into Frenchman Bay, where you can keep an eye out for harbor porpoise, bald eagles, and the cliffs of Ironbound Island. This cruise will be partially narrated by one of our volunteer marine scientists.

This trip departs and returns to the Schoodic Marine Center in Winter Harbor only. Admission by donation when at least one member of the group holds a state-issued ID, property tax bill or utility bill indicating they reside in Gouldsboro, South Gouldsboro, Winter Harbor, Birch Harbor, Prospect Harbor, Sorrento, Sullivan or Steuben.
